WHERE WRENS ROAM - Marchweil near Wrexham

The wren is the most common bird in the UK but is rather elusive so it always feels quite special when I see one.

In folklore the wren was believed to carry messages between worlds, appearing as a small but powerful guide when we most need direction. In Irish folklore the wren's song was considered to be highly prophetic leading it to be known as the Druid of birds. Similarly in Welsh 'dryw' means both wren and druid.

The spiritual meaning of wren sightings can indicate that the universe is urging you to stop underestimating yourself, to trust your instincts and embrace your personal gifts even if they go unrecognised. As a spirit animal it comes to the quiet ones, the overlooked ones who don't know or have forgotten their hidden strength.

I love the little wren and even more so knowing some of the folklore behind it

Painted on old maps, these wrens trace the unseen journeys we all make. Perhaps they are simply birds, or perhaps as old folklore suggest, they appear just as we need a gentle reminder that we are still finding our way but are on the right track
