The first bothy I ever stayed overnight in. I went alone , arriving the find the place empty, started a fire and made myself at home. Later in the evening 2 guys turned up and then later again another guy and his 8 year old son. We chatted late into the night sharing whisky, snacks and stories around the fire. The next day I joined the 2 guys on a walk into the Carneddau hills before we went our separate ways. Theres a special magic about the fleeting connections made in these shelters in the wild. They live on as a lasting memories that still make me smile.
