There is a pair of Little Owls on a farm close to us in North Wales. It is absolutely wonderful to be able to watch them from the hide which Gary and a friend have had permission to put there. This is a typical Little Owl stare. I always start any painting of an animal with the eyes and once the eyes are done the painting then comes to life for me and this Little Owl seemed to stare at me with 'that look' as I continued to paint him.
